After School Care Director – Part Time Position
After School Care is Monday – Friday; 2:30-5:30 p.m.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Administering, planning, managing and controlling the daily activities of the after school care program
- Ensuring that the facility meets DHS licensing requirements
- Ensuring the health and safety of children
- Providing prudent supervision of all after school care staff
An ideal candidate is patient, warm and energetic, with strong communication skills for interaction with students, parents and co-workers. Hours of work will typically be 2:30 -5:30 PM Monday – Friday during August – May while school is in session.
This position typically transitions into Summer Care Director and hours will increase in the months of June and July.
Minimum qualifications include:
Directors shall be twenty-one (21) years of age or older, and provide documentation of one of the following educational levels:
1) Bachelor’s Degree or higher Degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field.
2) Bachelor’s Degree in a non-related field plus one of the following:
- Four years of experience in early childhood education
- Child Development Associate Credential (CDA)
- Birth – Pre K Credential
3) Associate’s degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field, plus six (6) years of experience in Early Childhood Education
4) Eight years of experience in Early Childhood Education and completion of one of the following, within two years of employment: a
- Child Development Associate Credential
- Birth – Pre K Credential
- Director’s Credential or the equivalent
- Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education
Background check is required.
