Religious Formation Director I am pleased to announce Cindy Barr is our new director for religious formation. She will start  this coming Monday July 8, 2019. I am very happy for Cindy to join the staff of Christ the King. Please welcome Cindy to this new ministry. Fr. Juan  

Mrs. Myndi Keyton Announced as Principal

Christ the King Catholic School is proud to announce Mrs. Myndi Keyton as the new principal. Myndi has been at Christ the King Catholic School for 19 years teaching kindergarten, second, fifth, and sixth grades. She has her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Arkansas Tech University and is certified for preK-6th with middle school endorsements in English, Social Studies, and Science.  Mrs. Keyton is also certified in Apple Connections OG in 3D for dyslexia and Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) for English language learners. She currently serves on the ISPD Steering Committee for Fort Smith Catholic Schools and the Trust and Endowment Committee for Christ the King. She has served as the CTK Student Council Sponsor, the cheerleading sponsor, Religion committee chair, curriculum committee chair, CTK PTO Secretary, Vice President, and President. She also served for two years on the board of the Crisis Center in Fort Smith. Before coming to CTK, Mrs. Keyton developed, implemented, and taught a domestic violence prevention curriculum to junior high and high school students, law enforcement officers and judges through the Crisis Center. Mrs. Keyton and her husband, Kris, have been parishioners of CTK for 25 years. They have four boys: Jacob (28), Skip (23), Sam (18), and Levi (14) who are all CTK graduates. Mrs. Keyton loves to read, travel, and spend time with her dogs: Loki, Lili, and Chewy. Sunday 6/23 Solemnity of Corpus Christi

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ is also known as the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which translates from Latin to “Body of Christ.” This feast originated in France in the midthirteenth century and was extended to the whole Church by Pope Urban IV in 1264. This feast is celebrated on the Thursday following the Trinity Sunday or, as in the USA, on the Sunday following that feast. This feast calls us to focus on two manifestations of the Body of Christ, the Holy Eucharist and the Church. The primary purpose of this feast is to focus our attention on the Eucharist. The opening prayer at Mass calls our attention to Jesus’ suffering and death and our worship of Him, especially in the Eucharist. At every Mass our attention is called to the Eucharist and the Real Presence of Christ in it. The secondary focus of this feast is upon the Body of Christ as it is present in the Church. The Church is called the Body of Christ because of the intimate communion which Jesus shares with his disciples. He expresses this in the gospels by using the metaphor of a body in which He is the head. This image helps keep in focus both the unity and the diversity of the Church. The Feast of Corpus Christi is commonly used as an opportunity for public Eucharistic processions, which serves as a sign of common faith and adoration. Thank You I want to thank all who were involved in the Block Party. May the Lord bless you and keep you.   Search for our new principal. As many of you know, we are in the process of searching for a new principal for our wonderful school. We have 5 applicants. Please pray for the search committee and our school.   June 25, 2019 This Tuesday I will be in Little Rock for the monthly meeting of the Presbyterial Council and the Mass of Jubilee for the Priests. We are going to celebrate those priests who are celebrating 10, 25, 50 years of service to our diocese. Please pray for all our priests.   CASA 2019 Dear brothers and sisters we are half way to our goal for this this year. Please continue to send your donations to the diocese. Remember CASA helps with the formation of priest, parishes religious education and other services.   Fr. Juan  

PRE & Rock Registration Open

We welcome all who wish to enroll in our PRE, First Holy Communion, Rock, TARE, and Confirmation classes. August 28 kick-off for TARE/Confirmation.   September 29 there is a mandatory Parent/Guardian Confirmation Meeting (Adults only). Please come by the Parish Office to fill out the registration forms or call 479.783.7745 with any questions or comments.   TARE and Confirmation students can register on line at
